Decorated vases from Mayan tombs (Central America) still shine in museums, public and private collections all over the world, while the ancient people still fascinates local farmers, as well as scholars, museum curators and grave looters. Having in mind that a significant portion of these art objects have been acquired under suspicious circumstances, we reveal the different values and meanings they have for the members of each of the mentioned groups.
