Folk artists – the so-called slamarke (straw artists), members of the Croatian national minority in Bačka, use straw as a material for various art objects, paintings and sculpture. The protagonists of the film are the outstanding straw artists Ana Milodanović and Jozefa Skenderović. Their art is associated with the everyday life and the social position of the community members in Vojvodina.
