Special programme 2017

"New Technologies and Intangible Cultural Heritage"

(in collaboration with the Regional Centre for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage in South-Eastern Europe under the auspices of UNESCO)

The workshop is conceived as a satellite event of the International Festival of Ethnological Film in Belgrade in October 2017. The aim of the Workshop is to focus attention on and to raise discussion about the utilization of new information and communication technologies (ICT) in the safeguarding, promotion and access to intangible cultural heritage (ICH). The forum will bring together experts from two fields – ICH and ICT.

Several topics will be discussed:

·        New technologies for heritage identification, documentation and research;

·        New technologies for popularizing ICH and ensuring access to ICH;

·        Challenges and perspectives in the application of new technologies for ICH safeguarding;

·        Social media and ICH.

The workshop will also include a contribution of the Balkan Documentary Centre from Sofia, Bulgaria, regarding a new segment of the Belgrade festival – a presentation of the Pitching Forum for film projects in ICH-related development.
