Cooperative families can rarely be found in the communities typical of modern culture. Tharu is a rare community in Nepal where extended families still function. A 68-member community of this type can be found in the village of Lalbhoji. The film deals with their value system, daily tasks, the distribution of responsibilities and authority which, despite the inevitable conflicts, hold the family together.
