Pattern is an experimental documentary film that explores the notion of “body-less faces” and gender segregation in religious ideology. This film is the outcome of my objective observations with a mobile phone that aims to visualize the way ideology contributes to the idealization of the female body. This is a process through which a female body becomes an abstract, formless, and shapeless figure. Indeed, “body-less faces” are spilt from the world they inhabit by various dark layers of ideology and therefore they are fragmented, concealed, and prohibited. Another dimension of these faces is that they are voice-less and detached from the material reality that informs them.
