Toma meets Katarina during a nightmare, one stormy night on a deserted farm. After the girl's mysterious death and according to her wishes, the theologian was invited to read prayers for three nights by her bier in the village church. The strange beautiful woman summoned the impure forces during her life. Neither the horrific stories about the deceased maiden, about her sinful relationship with her father, who, consumed by lust for his beautiful daughter, drove his aged wife to the grave, nor the gruesome orgies in her past, could extinguish the love felt by young Toma. Although he is simultaneously afraid of her, he does not tell anyone how he spends the night next to the dead maiden, nor about the demonic power he felt in her vicinity. Tormented by the sinful relationship with her father, Katarina is filled with hatred. She is the witch from the worst nightmares, who tortured her workers during her lifetime, but also continues to do so after her death. An innocent, enamored theologian will also become her victim.
