Amidst the newly-built office towers in Fuzhou, China lies a parcel of wetland where delicate jasmine flowers grow in abundance. Here, farmers brave the hot weather to collect jasmine from verdant and fragrant fields. They talk about the ephemeral bloom of the flowers, because the perfect bloom occurs but once a year. This film offers a visual journey of the jasmine flower from field, to cultivation, and ultimately, to the porcelain cup of a tea master.

Marina García Andreu lives in Sabadell, Barcelona. She graduated in Documentary Direction at ESCAC, a school that awarded her a scholarship during her career and the UB prize for the best student in the promotion, which allowed her to obtain the scholarship to study for a master's degree in Production and work in the film Industry. Soul of Jasmine comes out of a grant from the Beijing Normal University called Looking China, which chooses filmmakers from around the world to make a documentary in a few days.
