Coming from different parts of Slovenia and of different ages, they met in Belgrade and began their decades-long association, calling themselves “micke”. They are also among the oldest members of the “Sava” Association - the Association of the Slovenian national minority in Belgrade, and some of the founders of the women’s choir “Pojoča družba”, at the “Sava” Association. In addition to sharing their happy moments of life with each other, the Slovenian women from Belgrade also share troubles by caring and helping each other. They are also very active in the Association and in the choir. Within the Association, they pass on their knowledge of Slovenian customs to younger generations, especially children, and teach them Slovenian folk songs. Their choir performs whenever and wherever possible, singing Slovenian as well as Serbian and Yugoslav songs.
