Brazil, 2021. When a pandemic hits the world, the best place to be is outside the world. Living in social isolation during his 75 years of life, Pedro Tenório, a farmer poet with indigenous descent, reflects the environment and his memories of him while observing the chaos that extends beyond his lands.

Jefferson Sousa is a filmmaker from Itapetim, in Pernambuco’s Sertão do Pajeú region, Brazil. His audiovisual and digital works focus on preserving and disseminating the popular culture and oral memory of Northeastern Brazil. He is the author of a trilogy of documentaries about illiterate poets from the backlands and the creator of educational games and sound productions that combine technology, orality, and intangible heritage. His works have reached millions of views and have been showcased in more than twenty countries. In the second semester of 2025, he presented his documentaries and digital games in person at cultural events in Madrid and Bergamo (Ardesio), strengthening the integration between ancestry and technological innovation in the representation of Brazil’s rural identities.
