The Dačović family has always paid special attention to the celebration of Christmas. Old customs have been preserved to this day. The preparation for Christmas begins with Christmas fasting. Holidays have a significant role in the cycle of these customs: Children’s Day, Mothers’ Day and Fathers’ Day. Tucindan and Christmas Eve are the holidays that round up the season of Christmas. The preparation of Christmas roast begins on Tucindan, while badnjak tree is cut in the early morning hours of Christmas Eve . Christmas Eve, the evening leading to Christmas Day, gathers the whole family around a fast-appropriate dinner. Bringing straw and badnjak trees into the house and setting the badnjak tree on fire is a central family event. On Christmas, the česnica bread is made, the first visitor is welcomed and the family gathers around a festive and rich table. A prayer is read and God-pleasing songs are sung.
