In the period leading tothe Second World War the crafts flourished, and then the rights of craftsmen started to be denied, cooperatives were established and then turned into collective craft companies. Very few freelance craftsmen remained working on their crafts in their own shops. They were under enormous pressure from the state.

Milan Brajović is Senior Curator atthe Museum of the Rudnik-Takovo Region, where he works since 1994. His films hav received several awards at the International Festival of Ethnological Film in Belgrade.

Nataša Polomac graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade, Department of Ethnology and Anthropology. She works at the Museum of the Rudnik-Takovo Region in Gornji Milanovac.

Ivana Ćirjaković is a senior curator and museum advisor at the National Museum in Čačak.
