For people of Lamalera, their ancient hunting technique is their main source of livelihood. But times are changing as the youth are leaving the village while there is pressure from the outside world to end the whaling. Four unique individuals take us into their world as we explore their daily lives. The audience will gain an intimate first-hand account of one of the world’s last indigenous whaling cultures, revealing how all aspects of life is shaped by their whaling.
Karsten Tadie has a MA within International Development Studies and social Anthropology from Roskilde University, Denmark. With his first film Lamalera, Karsten combines his passion for filmmaking and his long work experience with indigenous peoples.
